Lerret - Isbjørn Foto - Svalbard Islandskap
Taken north of Spitsbergen, Svalbard in October 2012. This was taken during a research cruise in Autumn 2012. The Arctic sea ice extent in Summer 2012 was the lowest since satellite records began in 1979.
I used a slower shutter speed to track the bear as he made his way through the ice ahead of me. I took over 400 frames in the 5 or so minutes that the bear stuck around. This was my favourite.
Taken with a Canon 7d and 100-400 F4.5-5.6 L lens.
Printed on bright white tightweave 380gsm cotton canvas with archival quality inks. Hand stretched over 38mm pine stretcher bars. Research suggests the canvas will last up to 85 years without colour fading.
Obviously the canvas will not be watermarked.
